VOWS Beautiful Bride on her wedding day

Frequently Asked Questions

We aim to capture your wedding day in an unobtrusive way and providing a stress-free production from start to finish. With that in mind, here are some common question we’re asked, but if there’s anything else you want clarification on, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

How far afield do you work?

Conveniently based in the midlands, we cover the whole of the UK. Depending on distance we may add a charge to cover petrol and on rare occasions accommodation, but reasonable travel expenses are built into the package prices already.

Do you film weddings and ceremonies taking place overseas?

Yes. Nothing changes to the cost of the package, all that we ask is that you cover the cost of flights and accommodation.

Do you cover Indian weddings?

Yes we do. We have extensive knowledge of Sikh, Muslim and Hindu weddings, and pride ourselves on honouring the culture and traditions. Although we don’t carry a fixed price, our bespoke packages are very competitive. For an accurate quote please provide details here.

Do you also offer photography?

No we don’t, our expertise lies in film. However, I would be happy to recommend a number of great wedding photographers to you that can suit any budget, or you can find local wedding photographers on hitched.co.uk.

What equipment do you use?

We use cinematic Canon HD-DSLR cameras with radio mics and shotgun mics that record audio directly to camera and also separately. To capture those really cinematic shots we also carry a range of camera mounts from steadicams and shoulder rigs, to car mounts and even a 14ft jib.

Do we discuss the video beforehand?

Definitely. It depends on how far in advance you book, but the ideal time to discuss the details is when there’s less than a month before the wedding. This will allow us to get to know one another and put your mind at ease. We will explain how we’ll shoot the day, and also discuss some of the finer things, like any music that you would like in the finished film. We prefer a face-to-face meeting, but if there are time or logistical problems then we can hold the discussion over FaceTime or Skype.

How long will the video take to complete?

The short answer is less than 8 weeks. Usually the editing process takes around 2 weeks to complete, however with the work needed on the packaging, and depending on the time of the year, we advise that it can take up to 8 weeks. In practice, and with 2 dedicated editors on the team, the actual delivery time is usually far less than this.

How much deposit is needed and when do you take the balance?

If you wish to book, we will send you a copy of our booking form for you to read and sign. Upon booking you pay 25% of the cost as a deposit and the balance 21 days before the date of the wedding.
